Case study · Automotive outbound

A cleaner database and a fuller workshop, from the same calls.

A leading automotive distributor in Oman held a vehicle database it could no longer trust — and campaigns that could not wait for a clean-up. Over two years, a small shared Omni team verified more than 10,000 ownership records and booked 8,000+ workshop appointments from the same calls, lifting the booking rate from 10% to 22% of conversations.

Omni The idea

Verification is not overhead.Every call confirms who owns the car, then offers whatever applies to it — a corrected record and a booking opportunity from the same dial.

Calls placed
200K+

Outbound calls over two years, from a shared floor of two to three agents.

Conversations
70K+

Customers reached and spoken to — individual owners and fleet companies.

Workshop visits
8K+

Service appointments booked straight into the client's own workshop system.

10K+

Vehicle ownership confirmed, or new-owner details captured.

The brief

Fix the list first, or run the campaigns? Both. Now.

The database behind every service reminder, recall notice and promotion was unreliable — duplicate entries, vehicles that had changed hands, numbers that no longer connected. Every campaign sent to the list was paying for the errors in it. The textbook answer is cleanse first, sell later; but recalls were open, seasonal offers had dates attached, and the workshop needed bookings now. So the brief was to do both in the same conversation: verify who actually owns the car, and offer whatever applies to it.

What we built
after cleansing the data itself

Tooling for a call that does two jobs.

A purpose-built CRM

One page per vehicle: ownership status, contact history, and the campaigns or recalls it qualifies for. Agents update ownership in one step and move to the booking in the next.

Autodialer integration

Lists split between individual owners and companies holding several vehicles, each worked with the right script and pacing. When a call connects, the vehicle's page is already on screen.

Live dashboard and reporting

Call outcomes, verification results and bookings by day — visible to the client in real time, not in a monthly pack. Bookings land directly in the client's workshop system, so there is nothing to reconcile.

How a call runs

Verify, then offer. Every time.

01 · ConnectThe dialer connectsThe agent's screen shows the vehicle before the first word 02 · VerifyConfirm the ownerStill theirs? Confirmed. Sold on? New-owner details captured 03 · OfferPropose what appliesThe campaign, service reminder or recall for that vehicle 04 · BookInto the client's systemThe appointment is created, the record updated, the next call arrives

The verification step is not a cost on the sales call — it is what makes the sales call worth having. A recall offered to the wrong owner is a wasted dial; a vehicle confirmed to its current owner is a booking opportunity every time a new campaign opens.

The results
two phases, one team

Cleaner data compounds.

Phase one: volume and verification

Around 100,000 calls in the first year produced tens of thousands of conversations and thousands of appointments — well past the monthly targets, peaking at 5,000+ calls and close to a thousand bookings in a single month. By the end of the phase, more than 10,000 vehicle records had been verified.

Phase two: from calls to bookings

With the database clean, the goal changed from call volume to a monthly booking number — hit by a smaller fractional team. The client now sends focused lists each month — service reminders, a fixed-price lubrication offer, recalls, free safety checks — and receives a disposition file showing exactly who booked, with agents averaging around ten appointments a day each.

Booking rate, share of conversations10% → 22%

Campaigns with a concrete, dated offer — the lubrication promotion, recall notices, free safety inspections — were consistently the strongest drivers of bookings.

Why it worked

Two outcomes from one dial

Verification and booking share the same call, the same agent and the same cost. The client pays for one conversation and receives a corrected record and a booking opportunity.

A shared team, billed by the FTE

No dedicated seats: fractional agents on a shared outbound floor gave the throughput needed at the cost of the hours actually used, scaling as the work changed.

Cleaner data compounds

Every campaign after the first ran against a better list. The climb from 10% to 22% booking rate is the return on the verification work done in phase one.

Nothing to hand over

Bookings lived in the client's own workshop system from day one. If the engagement ended tomorrow, the client keeps everything.
